Cookies and your privacy
What this website stores on your device, why, and how to change your mind.
Your choice
We only use Google Analytics cookies if you say yes. If you say no, nothing from Google Analytics loads at all, and the website works exactly the same, including booking.
What we store
| Name | Set by | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
fot_cookies (stored in your browser) | This website | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don't ask on every page. | 12 months |
_ga, _ga_WPYWJ4QR64 | Google Analytics, only if you accept | Counts visits and tells them apart, so we can see which pages help people and improve the site. We don't use them for advertising. | Up to 2 years |
fot_booked_… (stored in this tab only) | This website | Stops one booking being counted twice in our statistics if you refresh the confirmation page. | Until you close the tab |
| Language and accessibility settings | The translate and accessibility tools | Only if you use them: remember the language or text size you picked. | Until you change them |
Our own visit counts
The website also keeps simple visit counts of its own (pages viewed, and whether people get in touch). These use no cookies and store nothing on your device. Internet addresses are never stored: each day's visits are scrambled with a new random key that is thrown away the next day.
Payments and videos
When you pay a deposit you go to Stripe's secure payment page, which uses its own essential cookies to keep the payment safe and stop fraud. Videos from YouTube only load when you press play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode; YouTube may then store information on your device.
